High Season is a contemporary drama series (6×50’) set in a venice that is becoming more and more like a giant theme park for tourists. just like at eurodisney, everything continues to run smoothly on the surface: visitors arrive, spend money, take photos, and leave.
High Season is an intimate ensemble drama, in which three quarente brothers live who have inherited the building and who embody three opposing ways of dealing with the city’s transformation, using venice as an extreme metaphor for the major european cities devoured by tourism, by gentrification and by the commodification of identity.
A series about a sense of belonging, the cost of survival, and the conflict between memory and progress.
Because what happens when the place where you live continues to exist… but is no longer meant for living?
